Revolutionary Dance Music!
Classically trained from the age of 6 on piano, Prash is no stranger to composition and expression through music. As a child he went on to learn flute, violin, tabla, harmonium as well as performing in concerts both solo and with a full orchestra. Moving in his teenage years, Prash developed a real passion for Rock music and Hiphop, so then taught himself drums and a basic knowledge of guitars. But then one day at age 13, his older brother Mitesh, who had already amassed a large number of vinyl and a pair of decks, brought home a hardware sequencer. This one moment was to shape the rest Prash's life. Having already grasped the use of computer sequencers and basic sampling he set about writing dance music consistently, for the first time delving into sound manipulation.
This lead onto a passion for audio engineering, and at age 15, Prash performed his first drum n bass live PA at a nightclub in Reading under the name impact. While doing this for several years, playing clubs up and down the country as well as Exit Festival in Serbia. he was co-running a promotions company that put on a monthly 2000 capacity event for 3.5 years called Bassheads. When the club shut down, it was then that DJ Luxy and Prash formed Catch 22 Productions and launched our recording studio in Reading. 6 years on, he has produced hundreds of artists across a range of genres and languages both here in the UK and globally, remixed for major labels, been remixed, released singles, produced albums, worked on film music, featured on BBC Radio 1 and performed at the Albany theatre with Nitin Sawhney, Glastonbury, the Electric Proms at the Roundhouse, the Royal Festival Hall, and too many clubs to mention.
Now having picked up bass guitar, Prash is focusing on finalising the current albums and live shows in production while putting together his own solo project - Engine-EarZ |
