HEADSPACE – are an exciting new DJ/Production team to emerge onto the UK dance scene in 2008.

Consisting of members Sam and Jaime, HEADSPACE is the brainchild of Catch 22 producer Prashant Mistry, who together with Sam Sowerby and veteran DJ JaimeB, defined the sound as well as the ethos behind it.

Music is their outlet for what we all search for each day- HEADSPACE. The pair are more than familiar with facing the challenges laid down to us by the fast-paced, money-fuelled, no-time-to-think-just-work-eat--sleep society that we are brought up in. We find ourselves so caught up in the routines and obligations that are given to us, it can become a challenge to engage with the things that really matter.

As artists, it is the desire to free themselves, and enable others to regain control over their own headspace, that drives them. They harness the explosive energy created by collaboration. The result: fast-paced studio productions, and electrifying live performances.
Should Headspace make it big in the music world, it is unlikely they will be regarded as chancers. Classically trained and having collectively achieved 19 grades in 4 instruments - Piano, Drums, Saxophone and Trumpet, the pair draw from their wealth of experience playing in Orchestra, Percussion, Wind and Brass Ensembles, Funk and Rock bands, as well as hundreds of hours in DJ sets. These sets span various European countries including Spain, Germany, Austria, and Serbia while here in the UK, they’ve played an impressive array of venues including The Royal Albert and Queen Elizabeth Halls, and at festivals such as Glastonbury.

With an influence that spans Classical, Jazz, Funk, Rock, House and Electro, the pair are influenced by artists from across the entire musical spectrum, making references to Fleetwood Mac, Blondie, Madonna, Rage Against the Machine and the Beastie Boys, as well as more recent artists like Stuart Price, Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx and Eric Prydz. Whether it's flat-out electro, down-tempo or minimal, Headspace productions focus on a tight groove and a fat bass, returning in many ways to the old-school rhythm-section style.
2008 promises to be a golden year for Headspace, going from strength to strength both in the studio, and on the stage. Be sure to watch this space, come back often; especially when you need some HEADSPACE
