DE-A-CO was formed as a 4 piece RnB act from a group of friends in Reading in 2000. It features members Deon, Ezra, AD and Curtis. They had all had a love of singing and writing as they grew up, so it seemed like a natural progression to focus there energies into one cause.
They have performed at a number of shows as well as 3 tours up and down the country from London to Newcastle.
The first tour was with the now defunct independent record label, "Explosive". With whom they recorded the track "Want you to know". They went on to perform this around the country.
They then received a call from the MOBO's to take part in the 'MOBO unsung competition' at 10 Rooms in London. They came 2nd, but were asked to perform at the next heat in Southampton where they came joint-first with a female solo singer. At the main event though, due to illness, two of the group were not able to perform at the main event, but to make up for this, they were asked to play in Manchester for the opening of Manchester City's new football ground.
After this, they then went on to do their own tour with booking agents 'Detention' around the south of England with tracks that they had co-written with local producer, Subject. That same summer, DE-A-CO received a call from Falaraki's main superclub 'The Castle Club'. They performed live to a sell out audience once again.
Once back in England they hooked up with a company called 'Paper Chase' through a mutual acquaintance. Paperchase worked with a number of UK artists such as Kano, Kele la Rock, Katey Pearl and the Essentials, as well as managing UK Grime producer, Davinche. DE-A-CO recorded 9 tracks with Davinche as well as 2 tracks with Harmony. They then went on to do a 20 date tour all around the UK performing these tracks.
It was during this tour that DE-A-CO linked up with production company, Catch 22 Music, not previously realising that they were based in the same town. Catch 22 encouraged them to achieve their own unique and distinctive sound, fusing RnB vocals over tough hiphop beats. Soon after beginning work with them,
DE-A-CO performed their new track "Full of it" at the launch party of Much Love's single 'Mamma Mia' and then went on to perform the same track at the 2005 Ealing Mela leaving the crowd of girls screaming for an encore (video of this at www.thecatch.co.uk).
Since then, they have received huge amounts of interest from Germany for their track “Mind Control” and now after the success of their mix-tape, are in the process of completing their debut album and are expected to be finished in the Summer of 2006 with the single “Give me that Love” being released soon after.
